The Southbay Ski Club was established in 1954 by a small group of skiing enthusiasts from various backgrounds. Motivated by their love of skiing they decided to form an area ski club to make skiing more available to more people.

The club incorporated in 1958 as a volunteer non-profit recreational/social organization managed by an elected Volunteer Board of Directors who established by-laws, customs and practices that have given us a place to excel in various Mountain sport activities.

We offer Individual and Family Memberships and are welcoming new members at this time. The benefits of membership are many! The Club has a lot to offer as a group and provides a platform for those who want to make a contribution to the club and the community.

In addition to finding agreeable friends to ski with, the club is affiliated with the Bay Area Snow Sports Council (BAC) and Far West Ski Association (FWSA) so our members are entitled to the many benefits and discounts offered by those organizations.

An important benefit of club membership is use of the club's lodge at a minimal cost. In 1961 the club purchased a lodge for the members use at Soda Springs located in the heart of their favorite ski areas.

Today our purpose is still centered on Alpine and Nordic skiing and Snowboarding but members enjoy a variety of muscle-powered outdoor mountain sports and use the lodge in all seasons. More about the lodge may be found on the "Lodge Information" tab to the left.
